Parma | District says Hillside student had 'hit list'

PARMA -- In a statement released Wednesday by the Parma School District, the district acknowledged that a Hillside Middle School student had created a "hit list.."

The statement read:

On Tuesday, March 25th it was brought to the attention of district officials that one of our students had created an alleged "hit list". The individual was immediately questioned, and appropriate disciplinary procedures are being conducted in accordance with Board policy.

Personal phone calls were held with any family directly affected.

The Parma City School District is taking this matter very seriously and is doing all it can to ensure the safety of our students. In addition, we are asking parents to speak with their children about appropriate behaviors in school, and to seek adult assistance when needed. As partners in school safety, we are reminding all students, staff, and families that if you see something, say something.

Our 24-Hour School Safety Hotline is 440-842-2220.

The school did not, in any way, identify the student nor explain what the disciplinary procedure was.
