CLEVELAND -- The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure began Friday morning at the Port of Cleveland. More than 650 walkers will take a 60-mile trek that they'll complete by Sunday afternoon.
More than 400 of the walkers have done the event before and 60 of them are breast cancer survivors. Each walking participant was required to raise a minimum of $2,300 to participate, but many went above that.
On average, Cleveland's walk raises just over $1 million a year to fight breast cancer. This is the 6th time the event has happened in Cleveland. Fourteen cities participate nationwide.
Walkers will be moving through the west side suburbs and you can cheer them on to help keep them motivated.
