CLEVELAND -- Residents in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland continue to experience discolored water as crews work to flush out the system.
The discoloration of the water is a result of manganese, a naturally occurring element in the lake.
The water is safe to drink and is not harmful if ingested.
There is no boil alert in effect.
Customers whose water still has a yellowish tint should refrain from doing laundry, especially of lighter-shaded clothes.
The following suburbs are being impacted:
- Beachwood
- Bratenahl
- Cleveland Heights
- East Cleveland
- Euclid
- South Euclid
- Gates Mills
- Highland Heights
- Lyndhurst
- Mayfield
- Mayfield Heights
- Richmond Heights
- Pepper Pike
- Shaker Heights
- University Heights
