Cuyahoga County/Akron: Some courts closed on Tuesday

CLEVELAND -- Due to the dangerously cold conditions, the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

This closure affects the General Division, Juvenile Court, Domestic Relations Court, Probate Court and the 8th District Court of Appeals.

The Cleveland Municipal Court will also be closed. Akron Municipal Court will be closed Tuesday.

Any planned Tuesday hearings will be rescheduled and any filings that are due Tuesday will be moved to the next day of business.

As of now, the courts plan to be open at their regularly scheduled times on Wednesday.

For Cleveland Municipal Court:

All first appearance criminal and traffic cases scheduled for Cleveland Municipal Court on January 7th and criminal and traffic cases scheduled for the personal dockets of Judge Ronald B. Adrine (15-A); Judge Marilyn B. Cassidy (13-A); Judge Michelle Denise Earley (12-C); Judge Emanuella Groves (14-B); Judge Charles L. Patton, Jr. (13-D); Judge Angela R. Stokes (15-C); Judge Pauline H. Tarver (13-C); Judge Ed Wade (12-A); and Judge Joseph J. Zone (14-D) will be rescheduled at the same time, Tuesday January 28th.

Cases scheduled for Judge Lauren C. Moore, Courtroom 14-A, on January 7th will be rescheduled for the same time, Tuesday January 21st.

Cases scheduled for Judge Anita Laster Mays, Courtroom 14-C, on January 7th will be rescheduled for the same time, Friday January 31.

Cases scheduled for Judge Pinkey S. Carr, Courtroom 12-B, on January 7th will be rescheduled for January 28 at 1:00pm.

All Cleveland Municipal Court civil cases will be notified by mail of their next scheduled court date.

This closure does not affect the Housing Court. The Cleveland Housing Court will be opened as scheduled on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
