Family and firefighters run CLE Marathon for teen fighting cancer

Two years ago, a group of Parma Heights firefighters ran the marathon to help fight A-L-S. This year their reason is a 16-year-old boy fighting non-Hodgkins lymphoma but they won't be alone and they hope their effort helps others along the way.

Parma Heights firefighters Brian Durante and Dan Kost will be joined by three other firefighters and dozens of family and friends of 16-year-old Jakob Hwang to run 13.1 miles on Sunday in the Rite Aid Cleveland half marathon.

Jakob, a junior at Elyria Catholic High School, has been fighting cancer since October.

His battle started a family movement they call #HwangSTRONG and they're rallying around Jakob and his parents to help raise money for medical bills but also raise awareness to childhood cancers.
