Cleveland Marathon recruiting volunteers

CLEVELAND -- The 2009 Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon needs volunteers this weekend to help make the experience for thousands of runners and spectators.

Volunteers will act as race ambassadors and are needed Friday, Saturday and Sunday to staff the Health & Fitness Expo, work with the Kid's Run, man water stations during the race, help with food at the finish line, act as course marshals, gear-checkers, media room escorts and more.

Typical volunteer shifts are as follows:

• Friday, May 15th : 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m and 2:00 - 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, May 16: 9:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m.1:00 - 6:30 p.m.; 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.
• Sunday, May 17: Multiple shifts available.

All volunteers will receive a free t- shirt.
