
It's a disease that can leave you breathless.
It can strike at any age but often affects women of child bearing age.
About 300 cases are diagnosed each year, but experts believe up to 200,000 people have the disease but don't know it.
Because symptoms mimic other common ailments, it's often misdiagnosed.
There are two different types of Primary Pulmonary Hypertension. It has no known cause or cure. A second form is often caused by another ailment such as heart disease or HIV.
There are new treatments available that can improve life, but often patients need lung or heart transplants.
