The Summa Center for Behavioral Health Care announces the creation of the Center for Sexual Health.
Akron- The Center for Sexual Health provides individual, couples, and group treatment to assist patients in achieving optimal sexual health. The Center specializes in the treatment of male and female sexual dysfunction, reproductive psychology, sexual addiction, as well as couples counseling.
"Given the importance of sexual functioning to the overall health of individuals and couples, it is surprising how few resources are dedicated to it," said Joseph D. Varley, M.D., Chairman of Summa's Department of Psychiatry.
Kimberly Resnick Anderson, LISW, will direct the center. She is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University's Mandel School of Applied Social Science and has been providing sexual health services to individuals and couples for more than 15 years. In addition to her role at the Center for Sexual Health, she currently serves as an adjunct instructor at the Mandel School of Applied Social Science, where she teaches human sexuality at the graduate level.
