Medworks holding another free medical clinic Feb. 22

CLEVELAND -- MedWorks is taking appointments for a free medical clinic this weekend.

At this time: MedWorks will be taking appointments through the MedWorks Appointment Line at 216.201.9325 and walk-ins are welcome on clinic day.

The free medical clinic will occur on Saturday, February 22, 2014, from 8:00am until 3:00pm at Neighborhood Family Practice at 3569 Ridge Road in Cleveland. Walk–in patients will also be accepted on clinic day.

The clinic will feature more than 100 healthcare professionals and support volunteers who will provide a broad range of health services.

Services will include women's health exams, pap tests and clinical breast exams, general physical exams and specialty appointments, lab work, and HIV testing. Mammogram referrals will be available.

Other medical specialties may include: Cardiology, Dermatology, Ear, Nose & Throat, Urology, Rheumatology, Podiatry and more. Each patient will also meet with a social worker to better understand the Affordable Care Act and next steps in their health care. Neighborhood Family Practice staff will be available to schedule follow-up medical appointments at NFP.

All services are provided free of charge on clinic day.

MedWorks is a non-profit that provides free healthcare clinics to Ohio's un- and under-insured. Through its successful collaborations with hospitals, corporate sponsors, and medical and non- medical volunteers, MedWorks provides care for its patients and serves as an access point for those individuals into the medical community. As part of its Care and Connection model, MedWorks provides care on clinic day and connects patients with ongoing medical services provided by local safety net healthcare facilities.
