Highway Patrol seizes pills, money in traffic stop

GEAUGA COUNTY – A Chardon driver is facing drug possession charges after troopers found pills in his car during a traffic stop.

Highway Patrol troopers stopped the man's car for a lane violation on Chardon Windsor Road in Claridon Township on March 24.

A drug-sniffing canine was used during the stop and a subsequent search of the car turned up Vyvanse pills, eight Hydrocodone pills, 51 Methadone pills, 71 Clonazepam pills and 26 Hydrochloride pills in a pill bottle.

Troopers also recovered a small amount of marijuana, glass smoking pipe and more than $2300 in cash. The prescription pills have a street value of $1,000 according to the Highway Patrol.
