Akron store owner pistol-whipped, robbed

AKRON - Police say the suspects in Thursday's robbery may have been involved in a similar robbery that occurred at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 7 at Bel-Air Motors at 601 West Exchange Street.

Just before 8 a.m. Thursday, the owner of Long’s Auto Haus at 730 North Main Street was robbed at gunpoint, according to police.

The owner said two men entered the business armed with handguns and they pistol-whipped the owner and demanded money. 

The suspects ran out with an unreported amount cash to a waiting gray, Ford Taurus parked on Frances Avenue.  A woman was the getaway driver, police said.

The suspects are two men and a woman. The first man is 18-22 years old, stands 5’04” – 5’06” tall, weighs 150 – 170 pounds, wearing a light gray, hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

The second man is 20 – 25 years old, stands 6’02” – 6’04” tall, weighs 180 – 190 lbs., and was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt and black pants. 

The woman is about 5’5” tall, weighs 120 lbs. and had pink or purple hair.
