AKRON, OHIO - Akron Police Lt. Rick Edwards tells WKYC that three people were shot at RP's Blade Academy barbershop Thursday morning.
Edwards said that it happened at 10:51 a.m. at 515 W. Exchange Street.
Edwards said a man walked in and started yelling at a customer sitting in a barber chair about to get his hair cut. The man in the barber chair pulls a gun from beneath his cape - a cape a person would wear when getting a haircut -- and starts firing shots.
Edwards said he shot the man, 20, that was yelling at him in the abdomen, chest and arm. He was taken to Akron City Hospital.
The man then shot a 17-year-old in the ankle and the 17-year-old was taken to Akron General Hospital, he was taken to Akron General Hospital.
He also shot a man, 49, who was also taken to Akron City Hospital.
Edwards says the barbershop was crowded at the time and the shooter ran out.
The suspect in the shooting is described as between 20 and 30 years old, standing 5’6” tall and weighing about 140 lbs. Police say he has a one-inch Afro, was wearing large-framed glasses and designer blue jeans with tears up the front of the pant legs.
