Bank robbery caught on camera

AKRON -- Although no gun was seen, police say a man who robbed a bank Tuesday claimed to have one.

It was around 3 p.m. when the suspect entered the First Merit Bank in the 1000 block of Kenmore Blvd.

The suspect reportedly spoke with an employee until all other customers left the bank. That's when police say the man declared he had a gun and demanded money.

He fled the scene with an unreported amount of cash.

The suspect was last seen getting into a green, Chrysler Sebring convertible with a tan/brown top.

Police estimate the suspect is between 27-33 years old and 5'10"-6' tall.

The incident was captured on camera.

Anybody with information is asked to contact the Akron Police Department.
