Ellet High School closed Monday after fire

Akron's Ellet High School is closed Monday closed Monday because of a fire there about 11 p.m. Saturday night. The clean up will continue. Investigators have not yet said what caused the fire or how bad the damage is.

AKRON, Ohio -- Students in Summit County are getting an extended weekend as Ellet High School is closed Monday.

The closure is due to the damage caused by a fire that broke out inside the building late Saturday night around 11 p.m.

Akron fire officials said the blaze began in a classroom where students work on learning construction skills.

There were no injuries.

The cause remains under investigation, but officials said it doesn't currently look to be suspicious.
