Facebook date ends with robbery in Akron

AKRON -- Police here said the end of a date made on Facebook ended with a man being dragged out of a car and robbed.

About 9:30 p.m. Monday, a man, 20, was robbed of his wallet and car. But how it all happened is unusual.

The man said he was dropping off a woman he met on Facebook in the 100 block of West Mildred Avenue.

When the man pulled into the driveway, the woman called someone in the home and told them to open the door, then she got out of the car and walked down the driveway and around the back of the house.

Just then two men, one armed with a handgun, approached the car and dragged the driver out of the car. One suspect fired a shot into the air and threatened to shoot the driver.

The victim ran to a nearby house and asked the resident to call the police. The two men drove off with the man's wallet, cell phone and car, a 2006, tan, Chevy Impala with Ohio License plate LILJPW.

The Impala has not been found.

When police arrived, they saw air soft pellets in the driveway.

Police say the two men wanted in this incident are dark complexioned, black, about 20 – 25 years old.

The first man is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds.

The second man is about 5'10" tall and weighs about 240 lbs.

The duo should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information should call the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau
