Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Akron

May 10, 2017: It was early this morning when a pedestrian in Akron was struck by a vehicle on Triplett Boulevard near Hilbish Avenue, which is just outside of the Rubber Bowl.

AKRON, Ohio -- A portion of Triplett Boulevard was closed in Akron early Wednesday after a man was struck by a vehicle.

The closure was between Stanley Road and Hilbish Avenue.

The victim, a man in his 20s, crossed southbound across Triplett Boulevard near the intersection of Lansing Street when he was struck by a car traveling eastbound on Triplett Bpulevard.

The victim's condition is unknown. 

The driver is cooperating with authorities, according to Akron police.
