Nov. 23, 2016: The accident happened between a pickup truck and a Hyundai near Rolling Acres Mall.

AKRON - Akron police say that a Ford F-350 pickup was headed northbound on Romig Road just before 7 a.m.

The driver of a grey Hyundai Veloster pulled out from an apartment complex's driveway and was struck by the Ford F-350.

Police say that a boy, four months old, and the car seat he was strapped into in the back seat were ejected from the Veloster.

Police say that the child's mother was also in the Veloster. Police were told that the mother waved down a passing car and had them take her and the baby to Akron Children’s Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Police say that both drivers suffered minor injuries. No confirmation on the cause of the crash but police believe speed may have been a factor.
