Coast Guard rescues 2 men near Conneaut

CONNEAUT -- The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two men from Lake Erie Thursday afternoon after their boat capsized.

Around 2:30 p.m., the Coast Guard was notified by a 911 call that two men were in the water about four miles off the coast of Conneaut.

Rescue crews reached the men by helicopter around 4 p.m.

Both men were wearing life jackets, which Senior Chief Petty Officer Kirk Anderson said was crucial to their survival and recovery.

Their names were not released.
