MONROE TOWNSHIP, OHIO - Two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Monroe Township.
It happened around 6:29 p.m. along Route 7 and Route 84 in Ashtabula County.
80-year-old Raymond Reed of Kingsville and 70-year-old Roger Bacon of Pierpont both died as a result of the crash.
Authorities say Reed and Bacon were wearing their seat belts.
Investigators say the crash occurred when Reed “failed to yield at the posted stop sign” while driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze and struck a 2010 Ford F-250 pickup truck.
The truck, driven by a 27-year-old man from Conneaut, then collided with Bacon’s 1996 Buick Century.
The driver of the truck was not seriously hurt.
Officials with the Highway Patrol are continuing their investigation.
