Woman, 35, dead after Ashtabula County crash

LENOX TOWNSHIP, OHIO - Just before 2 a.m. Sunday, troopers responded to the scene after the driver of the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve on state Route 307 and crashed.

Troopers say the 2004 Chevrolet Suburban was driven by Margaret Saunders, 35, of Dorset, Ohio.

Troopers say Saunders was pronounced dead at the scene and she was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.

Troopers say in their report that the preliminary investigation shows the Suburban was traveling eastbound on State Route 307 when it failed to negotiate a curve, driving off the right side of the roadway.

It  struck a culvert, overturning and ejecting the driver before coming to a stop.

Troopers report that alcohol and drugs appeared to be a factor in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
