PAINESVILLE, OHIO - Since Sept. 9, police here say they have responded to 52 criminal damage/vandalism reports involving BB guns.
Police say these cases have involved business locations, cars and residences and, in one case, the Steele mansion.
In addition, police here say the Village of Fairport Harbor responded to 35 incidents involving businesses and cars.
Painesville Police say Fairport Harbor Police were able to identify one possible suspect, while Painesville Police identified a second suspect and obtained a vehicle description.
Through a collaborative investigation and sharing information, the two departments say they have identified at least three suspects and conducted one search warrant.
Multiple charges are being reviewed to include numerous felony violations. Police say they are not releasing names at this time.
