CANTON - Donald Trump used a made-to-order headline and Hillary Clinton's "basket of deplorables" comment about his supporters to fire up an overflow crowd Wednesday night in Canton.
Trump blasted Ford's announcement it was moving small car production to Mexico.
"It used to be cars were made in Flint, and you couldn't drink the water in Mexico...Now the cars are made in Mexico and you can't drink the water in Flint," he ranted.
He said he would charge Ford a 35 percent tax on vehicles made outside the United States
He also took Hillary Clinton to task for her claiming half his supporters belonged in a "basket of deplorables."
Mentioning Clinton's name brought a torrent of boos and a chant of "Lock her up."
"Hillary Clinton calls people who don't support her 'deplorables'...I call people who don't support we Americans who deserve the same respect as anyone else," he said.
He boasted about two new polls show him with a five percent lead in Ohio, his biggest margin yet, as well as improving polls in other states.
"States are in play that Republicans fly over...I'm going to land there, " he said.
Trump told the largely working class crowd how hard he was working on the campaign trail.
"I don't know, folks, you think Hillary would be able stand up here for an hour?" he asked.
And he questioned President Obama's stepped-up campaigning for Clinton.
"Why isn't he working instead of campaigning for crooked Hillary?"
His supporters said they were not concerned with questions about the Trump Foundation, Trump University. or Trump insults.
Dina Osborn said, "He's human. He's going to make mistakes."
