CLEVELAND - Both on and off the field, current and former Cleveland Indians are hitting home runs.
Today, in a coordinated project between Major League Baseball, the Cleveland Indians and the Starlight Children's Foundation Starlight Fun Center mobile entertainment unit has been donated to the kids at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital for Rehabilitation, according to a news release.
Cleveland Indians legend Carlos Baerga was among those showing the kids the center.
The Starlight Fun Center unit is equipped with the latest gaming system that rolls bedside in hospitals to provide distractive entertainment and healing power of play to pediatric patients, according to the release.
For children facing surgery, enduring long outpatient treatments or fighting loneliness after hospital visiting hours have ended, Starlight Fun Center units provide a comforting break and fun distraction, the Starlight Children's Foundation explained.
