Cleveland man arrested on Aggravated Murder warrant

CLEVELAND -- A 23-year-old Cleveland man was arrested on an Aggravated Murder warrant early Saturday morning, according to police.

Cleveland Police Detective and Agents of the U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Luis Nitsche Saturday at 1:30 a.m. in the 17400 block of Parkmount Ave. on the west side of Cleveland.

Nitsche was wanted in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Laweldon McDowell at 12:30 a.m. Friday.

The murder happened after a verbal argument broke out on 8201 Madison Ave. Nitsche then pulled a handgun on McDowell and shot him one time in the chest.

The victim was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center where he then passed away.

The final cause of death has yet to be determined.

Nitsche is currently being held in the Central Prison Unit awaiting charges.
