Cleveland Patrol Officer dies at his home

CLEVELAND -- A 20-year veteran of the Cleveland Police Department died at his home Sunday.

He was a patrol officer in the Third District.

According to police, officers responded to the Fairhill Road home around noon Sunday after a family member discovered the body of the 56-year-old officer.

At this time, it appears the officer died of natural causes.

However, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene and will determine how he died.
