Cleveland: Police investigating west side homicide

CLEVELAND -- Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and sent another to the hospital.

The shooting happened Saturday evening around 8 p.m. near West 38th Street and Newark Avenue.

Two men were sitting in a car near that intersection when another car pulled up next to them. Someone from the second car fired shots at the two men.

One of the victims was hit in the upper body and the other was hit in the arm.

The man who was shot in the upper body, 40-year-old Anthony Torres, died at MetroHealth Medical Center. The other victim, a 31-year-old man, is being treated for his injuries.

Police say the suspect's car is a gray or champagne colored Ford Taurus.
