Cleveland: Driver in fatal wrong way crash dies

CLEVELAND -- A hospital spokesperson says a driver suspected in a fatal wrong-way crash on I-77 has died.

Jerome Cook, 31, of Cleveland had been hospitalized in critical condition since the crash on April 30.

Cook was going northbound in the southbound lanes of I-77 when he collided with oncoming traffic near Fleet Avenue.

The driver in a car hit by Cook died at the scene. The driver of that car was identified as Jack W. Dixon, 48, of Eastlake. Family members say Dixon was on his way to work.
