Cleveland police officer injured in crash

CPD sergeant injured in overnight crash

CLEVELAND - One Cleveland police officer was injured during a crash in which the other driver was under the influence early Friday.

According to police, a sergeant was driving a police vehicle westbound on St. Clair at E. 140th Street.

A 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan, operated by Dujuan M. Abner, struck the left front of the police car.

The officer suffered injuries and was treated and released from St. Vincent Charity.

Abner did not report any injuries. Police say field sobriety tests indicated he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, resulting in his arrest.
