CLEVELAND -- Cleveland fans are on fire.
Anger sparked late Monday night after TBS showcased an image declaring “Welcome to Cleveland” with an intense fire burning in the background.
It all happened during the network's broadcast of the Indians sweeping the Boston Red Sox in Game 3 of the American League Division Series.
While the Cuyahoga River infamously went up in flames in 1969, the photo used by TBS shows an inferno from a Moscow pipeline that happened in 2015.
As you can imagine, Twitter was ignited with gobs of Clevelanders demanding TBS apologize for the photo.
@TBSNetwork don't know what was more disappointing ALDS coverage or poor taste w/ welcome to Cleveland picture.— Dave Miller (@rebelassistant) October 11, 2016
@TBSNetwork who signed off on that graphic of a river on fire representing Cleveland last night????— Jake (@Tweets_by_Jake) October 11, 2016
The Indians are heading to the American League Championship Series to face the Toronto Blue Jays. The first home game is slated for Friday.
