Tuesday marks one year, since Gina DeJesus, Amanda Berry and Michelle Knight escaped from Ariel Castro's home after years in captivity.
Friday morning Michelle Knight will share her story exclusively with the Today Show.
Here's a preview of the interview:
SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: I think one of the most remarkable things about you is you are a survivor, with a capital S. What do you think it is inside you that gives you that strength?
MICHELLE KNIGHT: Sometimes in life, you have a dark past that makes you who you are but it doesn't define who you are, it just makes you stronger.
Using a model of Castro's house, Michelle Knight showed how he hid the girls when visitors arrived.
SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: When people would come to the house, you girls would be up here?
MICHELLE KNIGHT: Yes. And he would take speakers, chairs, couch, seats, whatever, put it right there. And he'll block from anyone, like, getting up the stairs at all.
SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: And no one said, Hey, that's strange. Why do you have it like that?
MICHELLE KNIGHT: Yeah, don't understand why.
You can see Savannah Guthrie's entire interview with Michelle Friday on Today. Michelle will join Savannah in the studio on The Today Show on Monday.
