Outdoor chandelier takes shape in PlayhouseSquare

CLEVELAND -- PlayhouseSquare is getting even more glamorous.

The new outdoor chandelier is starting to take shape in PlayhouseSquare.

Crews worked on the chandelier overnight and installed the support posts that will eventually hold the chandelier above 14th and Euclid Avenue.

When it's unveiled on May 2, the 20' chandelier will shimmer with 4,200 crystals. Officials are hoping it will set a world record as the largest outdoor chandelier.

It is one of several elements being added to revitalize PlayhouseSquare. Among the other additions are four massive PlayhouseSquare arches, the last of which was put in place on March 28.
