PHOTOS | Ice rink ready at Public Square

CLEVELAND - Grab your skates and your parka, the ice skating rink at Public Square is officially ready! 

The first skate took place Monday morning and the rink is now open to the public.

Check out photos from Monday morning's first skate, which featured Cleveland Indians' mascot Slider, two-time Junior National Ice Skating Champion and Gates Mills native Caitlyn Nemastil and Rev. Dr. R. Mark Giuliano, Senior Pastor at Old Stone Church.

If you want to recover from all your Black Friday bargain-hunting, Public Square is offering free skate rental and a 45-minute skating session on Nov. 26. Tickets will be required and will be handed out on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The Cleveland Foundation Ice Rink will be open through Feb. 28. Skate sessions are $10 and include skate rentals. Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Fridays 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sundays noon to 8 p.m.
