Today marks the one-year anniversary of the escape from Ariel Castro's Seymour Avenue home for Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight.
The three had been missing for a decade before they were rescued on May 6, 2013.
Police are observing the anniversary by marking Missing Persons Awareness Day.
Police officers will be out in some Cleveland neighborhoods today to hand out flyers and knock on doors as part of their investigation into missing persons cases that remain open in Cleveland. The department is asking people to share any information they may have that could help find the missing.
Police are also asking residents to stay involved in their community. "When you see something, say something."
