CLEVELAND -- U. S. District Judge Solomon Oliver has now scheduled the sentencing for twice-convicted arsonist Antun Lewis for 1:30 p.m. June 20.
Last Thursday, Oliver also denied Lewis a third trial
Lewis, 30, has been convicted twice of killing Medeia Carter, 33, four of her children and four other children at a sleepover on May 21, 2005.
Oliver also denied a motion seeking dismissal of the arson charge.
Lewis is not eligible for the death penalty because of a mental disability.
U.S. Attorneys contended that Lewis, upset over a drug debt, doused the three-story building's first floor with gasoline.
His first conviction was dismissed after Oliver ruled jailhouse informants used by prosecutors were unreliable. After Lewis was found guilty at his retrial in December, defense attorneys said they believed the enormous tragedy overshadowed the evidence in the case.
