Video shows mother, child being struck by vehicle

CLEVELAND -- The moment when a woman and her child were struck by a vehicle was captured on surveillance video.

Due to its graphic nature, WKYC decided to edit the video before posting it in this story.

It happened Thursday afternoon as 22-year-old Myiesha McGlothin was walking in the area of E. 118th and Buckeye Road. She was holding her 5-month-old child when a vehicle makes a sharp turn around the corner and strikes them.

Both were pinned between the vehicle and a brick wall.

The driver and passenger are seen fleeing immediately after the crash on foot as other bystanders rush to help. Moments later, both suspects return to the scene to assist in pushing the vehicle off the mother and child before leaving again.

The mother was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition. The child was also treated at a local hospital with two reported broken legs and is said to be in stable condition.

Police say a 16-year-old boy has turned himself in to police. The other suspect seen in the video is unknown.
