CLEVELAND - About 8 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the scene where the passenger on the motorcycle later died at MetroHealth Medical Center.
Police say a motorcyclist, 24, and his passenger, 32, were on a 2005 Harley Davidson Motorcycle northbound on State Route 237 (Rocky River Drive) in excess of the posted speed limit of 35 mph.
A girl, 17, was driving a 2004 Nissan Maxima southbound on State Route 237 (Rocky River Drive), stopping at the red traffic signal at the intersection of Chatfield Avenue.
She yielded to traffic, police say, and then starts to make a left turn onto Chatfield Avenue and is struck by the 2005 Harley Motorcycle.
Both the driver and the passenger on the motorcycle were ejected onto the roadway.
Both were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. He is confined there with serious injuries and his passenger was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Maxima and her passenger, a man, 18, were not injured.
Police say that facts of this case will be presented to the prosecutor’s office.
