Case dismissed against Katarina Bitterman

PARMA - The case against Katarina Bitterman, the 17-year-old Parma teen who sparked a week-long search when she ran away to Massachusetts, has been dropped in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court.

Bitterman had been charged with inducing panic after she was found safely in Salem, Massachusetts at the home of a 19-year-old she met online.

Bitterman had been reported missing from her St. Augustine Drive home in March. Six days later, she was found at the home of Michael Julien and his mother, Renee Hanson. Authorities say Hanson drove to Ohio to pick up Bitterman before driving her back to Salem.

Julien and Hanson were charged with inducing panic, interference with custody and obstructing justice.
