Chagrin Falls Giant Eagle announces it is closing

CHAGRIN FALLS -- Giant Eagle, Inc., has decided to cease operations at its supermarket located at 20 Shopping Plaza in Chagrin Falls. The Giant Eagle location will close at the end of business on June 28.

"The needs and expectations of consumers continue to change, and the 27,000 square foot Chagrin Falls location was no longer adequate," said Giant Eagle Spokesperson Daniel Donovan.

"Our other nearby locations such as the recently remodeled Tanglewood Giant Eagle and the new Solon Market District offer the type of world class shopping experience our customers have come to expect."

Giant Eagle is directing customers to two other Giant Eagles within five miles of Chagrin Falls: the Tanglewood Giant Eagle in Bainbridge and the Solon Market District in Solon.

Donovan added, "We thank our Chagrin Falls customers for their patronage at this location for more than a decade, and our Team Members for their dedication to service."

The Chagrin Falls Giant Eagle opened in 1999. The 44 Team Members currently working at the Chagrin Falls supermarket will be considered for employment at other corporately owned Giant Eagle and Market District locations.
