BROOKLYN, Ohio -- A family lucky to be alive after narrowly escaping flames that destroyed the upstairs of their Brooklyn home, and they have their 13-year-old daughter to thank for alerting them to the danger.
Tera Byrnes woke up to her bed on fire early Wednesday morning.
She quickly ran downstairs and woke up her parents and younger sister.
Everyone is calling her a hero but she says she just did what instinct told her to do.
The family is currently in the process of setting up a donation fund.
