CLEVELAND - Today was the quarterfinals of the Erie Hack competition at the Global Center for Health Innovation.

More than a dozen local teams competed.

According to its organizers, the competition brings together the brightest in the tech industry – coders, developers, engineers, water experts – to solve some of Lake Erie's biggest problems, such as algal blooms and urban pollution.

Today was the last quarterfinal and, in the end, eight teams will compete for a grand prize of $40,000 at the May 2-3 Water Innovation Summit in Cleveland.
