Fire breaks out at Middleburg Heights UPS facility

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A fire Friday night at the UPS hub in Middleburg Heights is being investigated, according to a company spokesman.

Power has been restored at the facility, but Saturday operations have been moved to a facility in Cleveland for the day.

The fire broke out about 8 p.m. on Friday at the facility on Englewood Drive where packages are loaded and unloaded from tractor trailers.

The facility was evacuated safely, and no one was injured, said Bill Bryant, manager of executive communications.

UPS does not have information about damage to the facility and does not know when employees will be able to resume work at that particular location.

The facility is UPS's largest facility in the Cleveland area.
