PEPPER PIKE -- Jake Rose has a smile and laugh that is contagious, and he is one of the most popular seniors at Orange High School.
"Kids didn't vote him prom king because they feel sorry for him, he is truly one of the gang," says Dana Rose, Jake's father.
Jake has Down syndrome, but his family, friends and school have not let that define him.
His teachers have challenged him to meet his goals and be involved. Jake is in the marching band, theater and runs track. This weekend, he was voted prom king by his school.
"It was exciting," Jake said of becoming prom king. He graduates this year and will go on to a vocational program after high school.
"Everyone just loves Jake because of his smile and laugh. He just attracts people wherever he goes," says classmate Alana Zucker.
