Police seek to ID suspect in Subway armed robbery

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland police are searching to capture a suspect who robbed a Subway restaurant at gunpoint.

The department posted on its Facebook page surveillance photos from the Subway, at 3300 Clark Ave. in Ohio City.

Officials said the suspect went into the store on Aug. 15, ordered a sandwich and showed a black handgun to the store employee.

The man then jumped over the counter and ordered the employee to hand over money into a plastic bag, according to police.

Authorities said he threatened to kill the employee and any cameras be handed over before he locked the employees in the back room of the store.

Police describe the suspect as a black male in his 20s, about 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a tan, plaid jacket with a hat and black shoes with white soles.

Anyone with information should call authorities at (216) 623-5218.
