Sentencing for CMSD supervisor's 6th OVI next week

CLEVELAND -- Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge John Sutula is set to sentence Cleveland Municipal School District Security Supervisor Sgt. Kendall Fortson on Wednesday.

Fortson was indicted in December for his sixth OVI.

Fortson was stopped during the early morning of Dec. 21 by Highland Hills Police when he drove the wrong way down a divided street. Police also recovered a loaded handgun from Fortson's vehicle.

On April 9, Fortson pleaded guilty to one count of driving while under the influence and one count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

Sentencing is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
