Employees evacuated after HAZMAT scare overnight

CLEVELAND -- A local West Side company had a HAZMAT concern early Friday. Sources say a small fire in the basement of one of the buildings may have caused a chemical reaction and created a steam mixture.

The incident happened at Pittsburgh Plate Glass on West 143rd Street in Cleveland. According to their website, the company is a global supplier of paints, coatings, glass and fiber glass.

Employees were temporarily evacuated while fire and HAZMAT officials investigated the cause. So far, no injuries have been reported.

It's not clear what caused the fire.
