Highway Patrol: Man injured in Vermilion Township crash

VERMILION TOWNSHIP, OHIO - Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a crash that happened just after 12:30 p.m. today (April 13) on US 30 westbound.

According to a news release, David Frank, 54 of Crestline, was driving a 2016 Mack Truck and traveling westbound on US 30 when he drove off the left side of the roadway and into the median, according to the news release.

The truck overturned and came to a final rest in the roadway on its left side, blocking both lanes of travel, troopers said.

Frank was extricated by mechanical means from the truck. He sustained incapacitating injuries and was taken to University Hospital Samaritan in Ashland.

Hayesville-Vermillion and Jeromesville Fire Department were on the scene. The Ashland County Sheriffs Department was on the scene and assisted with traffic control. The crash remains under investigation.
