RALEIGH, NC -- WKYC has confirmed that Browns receiver Josh Gordon was arrested early this morning in Raleigh, North Carolina for driving while impaired.
In addition to the DUI charge, Gordon was issued a speeding citation for going 50 mph in a 35 mph area.
Gordon was arrested by Raleigh Police Department and then booked in the Wake County Detention Center around 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
"We are aware of the matter and are disappointed to learn of this situation," Browns general manager Ray Farmer said in a statement. "We will comment further at the appropriate time."
This arrest is the latest in a series of issues off the field for Gordon. He missed two games last year while serving a drug-related suspension. He currently faces being banned at least one year under the NFL's drug policy, pending an appeal.
Former Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson alludes to Gordon's personal issues off the field. The following tweet was sent from Jackson's verified Twitter account:
