LAKE COUNTY - FirstEnergy is working to repair power lines following several recent power outages.
A spokesperson for FirstEnergy says the company is working to replace 200 insulators from the 1970s that are believed to be tied to the recent power outages in Lake County. The unusually cold temperatures this winter caused those insulators to fail.
It will take about a month to complete the repairs. The lines run from Eastlake to Painesville.
An insulator is a piece of equipment that holds the transmission line in place on a tower or pole. It supports the wires and keeps the flow of electricity moving and insulates the electricity from traveling down the structure to the ground.
