MENTOR -- Police here are giving drivers advice on how to deal with the Ohio Department of Transportation's Interstate 90 pavement repairs that begin at 8 p.m. Friday night.
Police say that on Friday, August 8, ODOT crews will close two lanes on I-90 eastbound between SR 306 and SR 615 and one lane between SR 615 and SR 44 at 8 p.m. through Monday, August 11 at 12:30 a.m. for pavement repair operations.
Only one lane of I-90 eastbound will be open between SR 306 and SR 44 during this work.
To help improve traffic flow into the lane closures, crews will close the I-271 northbound Express Lanes just after Wilson Mills Road at 8 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. Monday, August 11.
Traffic delays are anticipated during this work, therefore drivers are highly encouraged to use alternate routes.
I-90 eastbound motorists leaving downtown Cleveland should continue on SR 2 eastbound to SR 44 south to I-90 east.
I-271 northbound motorists are encouraged to use I-90 west to SR 2 east and exit at SR 44 south to I-90 east.
I-271 northbound motorists could also exit at SR 91 north to SR 2 east and then exit at SR 44 south to I-90 east.
The entire project repairs the pavement on I-90 east and westbound between SR 306 and SR 44 in the city of Mentor.
