
The ongoing recession could take a bite out of summertime fun in Northeast Ohio. Many cities have been forced to slash budgets and make cuts to cope with the recession and in some places that means trimming back event budgets.
Below is a look at some local cities and what effects, if any, the recession will have on festivals, fireworks and other summertime fun events.
Mentor

Annual fireworks display is being scaled back from $35,000 to $25,000

The city says it has been able to economize and find creative ways to cut expenses to avoid cancelling events. All summer events are planned as scheduled.
